Allan H. Socken is the principal of Socken Law. Allan has extensive experience in the areas of estate, capacity, trust and real estate matters. He also maintains a mediation practice.
Allan has become increasingly involved in matters pertaining to property conflicts and alternative dispute resolution and has written widely on this subject. He is the author of a number of papers, which include:

Allan also recently co-authored a paper entitled "Liability in the Administration of Pension Plans," which was presented to pension advisors at ManuLife Financial.
Prior to founding his own firm, Allan articled and practised real estate law with Blaney McMurtry LLP and estate, trust and capacity litigation with Hull & Hull LLP.
Allan earned a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and a B.A. from York University. He later received his LL.M. in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall Law School.
Allan serves as adjunct faculty in the course Theory & Practice of Mediation and Small Group Leader of the Landlord and Tenant Division of the Mediation Clinical Programme at Osgoode Hall Law School.
Allan is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, Toronto Lawyers Association, The Advocates' Society, and The Advocacy Centre for the Elderly.

Careers

Socken Law understands the importance of contributing to the strength and growth of the legal profession. To this end, we are looking to hire an articling student who is eager to learn and obtain in-depth knowledge in the areas of estate, capacity, trust, real estate and landlord and tenant law. Our articling student will be teamed with a mentor to help monitor the student's progress.
